Updates
Every correction and addition to this index, with the date it was made.
An index is only as good as its record of being wrong. This log exists so that readers can see when an entry last moved, what was changed and why. Corrections are written here rather than applied quietly, including the small ones: a dropped diacritic, a season restated, a line removed because it implied a relationship with a hotel that does not exist.
Entries are listed newest first. Each one names the section it affected. The month at the foot of every hotel entry is the separate check date for that entry, and it moves whether or not anything needed changing.
- Confirmed the published season for Arctic SnowHotel as approximately 15 December to 31 March and rewrote the season line in entry 12.
- Marked Emporium Hotel South Bank, QT Melbourne, Little National Hotel Sydney and Cape Lodge for a name and operator check; entries left in place while the check runs.
- Corrected the spelling of Jukkasjärvi throughout entry 09 after the diacritic was dropped in an earlier edit.
- Rewrote the note on Casino Rama Resort to state plainly that the site is hard to reach without a car.
- Added The Pod Sydney as entry 08 and renumbered the ice and casino sections to keep the index sequence unbroken.
- Rewrote the SnowVillage entry after confirming that the layout and theme change from one season to the next.
- Clarified that the current Southern Ocean Lodge is a rebuild on the same headland, following the 2019-2020 bushfires.
- Corrected the operator description for River Rock Casino Resort and removed a line that implied a partnership with the property.
- Added Ice Village at Tomamu as entry 14, extending the section beyond Europe and Canada.
- Published the five listing rules as a separate page after several readers asked whether hotels pay to appear.
- Rewrote the Montreal Casino & Hotel entry around the Expo 67 pavilions and removed all description of the gaming floor.
- Introduced the check date at the foot of every entry, so readers can see how old each set of details is.
